The farmer registration process for wheat procurement at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for the Rabi Marketing Year 2026-27 has been finalised. Farmers will be able to register from 7 February to 7 March. Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Govind Singh Rajput has appealed to farmers to complete their registration within the prescribed timeline to avoid any inconvenience during the procurement season.
The minister stated that keeping farmers’ convenience in mind, the registration process has been made simpler and more accessible this year. A total of 3,186 registration centres have been set up across the state. Meanwhile, the Government of India has fixed the MSP for wheat at ₹2,585 per quintal for the Rabi Marketing Year 2026-27, which is ₹160 higher than last year.
Free Registration Facility Available: Farmers can register free of cost at Gram Panchayat and Janpad Panchayat offices, facility centres at Tehsil offices, and registration centres operated by cooperative societies and cooperative marketing institutions.
Paid registration services will also be available through MP Online kiosks, Common Service Centres (CSCs), Lok Seva Kendras, and private cyber cafés. A maximum fee of ₹50 per registration has been fixed at these centres. Fee-related guidelines will be issued by the respective district collectors. During registration, verification of land-related documents, Aadhaar card, and other photo identity proofs will be mandatory.
Farmers under special categories such as Sikmi (tenant farmers), Bataidars (sharecroppers), Kotwars, and forest patta holders will be registered only at centres operated by cooperative societies and cooperative marketing institutions. Their registration will undergo 100% verification by the Revenue Department.
Aadhaar-Linked Bank Account Mandatory for Payment: Payment for produce sold at MSP will be made on priority to the farmer’s Aadhaar-linked bank account. In case of any technical issue, payment can be processed into the alternate bank account provided during registration.
Farmers must provide the bank name, account number, and IFSC code at the time of registration. Inactive accounts, joint accounts, and wallet-linked accounts such as Fino, Airtel, Paytm, etc., will not be accepted. Farmers have been advised to keep their bank account and mobile number linked with Aadhaar updated for smoother services.
Aadhaar Verification Mandatory: Aadhaar verification has been made compulsory for both registration and crop sale. This verification will be done through OTP or a biometric device. The farmer’s name must match in both land records and the Aadhaar card. In case of any mismatch, registration will be considered valid only after verification at the Tehsil office.
Updates Through SMS and Local Publicity: Instructions have been issued to inform farmers registered in the previous Rabi and Kharif seasons through SMS alerts. Additionally, directions have been given for announcements in villages, displaying information on Panchayat notice boards, and putting up banners at the society and mandi levels. Officials have been asked to ensure the registration process is completed within the stipulated timeline.
