Central India will also experience significant rainfall activity. The IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rain for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh on June 30, July 1, 3, and 4. Eastern Madhya Pradesh, in particular, may face rainfall intense enough to damage crops and infrastructure. Local authorities are on high alert to manage potential flooding and waterlogging.
Moderate to heavy rain is expected in Bihar and Odisha between June 30 and July 4. Moreover, very heavy rainfall is likely in Bihar from June 30 to July 2, and in Odisha from June 30 to July 3. Low-lying areas in these states may experience waterlogging and disruptions in local transport.
Downpour Predicted in Vidarbha and Gangetic West Bengal:
Regions like Vidarbha and Gangetic West Bengal are likely to receive heavy rainfall on June 30, July 1, and again from July 4 to 6. These rainy spells could impact schools, offices, and local transport services. The administration has been advised to strengthen drainage systems in vulnerable areas.
Gusty Winds and Lightning Threat Across Eastern & Central India:
Throughout the next 7 days, thunderstorms accompanied by light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds (30–40 km/h) are likely across eastern and central India. Lightning strikes may also occur. Farmers, construction workers, and people working in open fields should remain cautious and avoid unnecessary exposure during stormy conditions.
Important Advisory for Farmers: Farmers are advised to take timely precautions to protect their crops from excessive rainfall. Due to the risk of nutrient loss or seed displacement, reinforce soil bunds and field boundaries to prevent erosion. Avoid spraying pesticides or fertilizers during active rain spells and monitor crop conditions closely.
