Markets in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra showed extreme variations today prices fell to as low as ₹500 per quintal in some MP markets, while leading markets in Maharashtra saw tomatoes selling for up to ₹4,000 per quintal!
For farmers, the day was a mixed bag high-arrival markets experienced weak prices, while limited arrivals of premium-quality tomatoes maintained strong demand and high rates in several markets.

- Betul (F&V) – Arrival: 1 tonne of desi tomatoes; Prices ranged ₹1,500–₹1,700 per quintal. Strong local demand ensured fair rates for farmers.
- Burhanpur (F&V) – Arrival: 4.2 tonnes of other varieties; Prices ranged ₹1,000–₹2,000 per quintal depending on quality.
- Dewas (F&V) – Arrival: 1.2 tonnes; Other varieties sold at ₹1,200–₹2,000 per quintal. Buyers actively sought high-quality produce.
- Indore (F&V) – Arrival: 9 tonnes; Prices ranged ₹800–₹2,000 per quintal, indicating a mix of quality in the market.
- Katni (F&V) – Arrival: 11.6 tonnes; Other varieties sold at ₹500–₹700 per quintal. Heavy arrivals and low-quality stock pushed rates down.
