Farmers and traders tracking tomato prices should pay close attention to today’s market update. Across major mandis in India, tomato prices witnessed extreme volatility, driven mainly by uneven arrivals and strong demand in select regions.
While tomatoes were sold at ₹4,000–₹4,500 per quintal in several Maharashtra mandis, prices in Madhya Pradesh and a few other regions dropped close to ₹500 per quintal. This sharp contrast highlights the importance of choosing the right mandi at the right time to maximize returns.
This report covers state-wise tomato prices, arrivals data, market trends, and practical advice for farmers, helping you make informed selling decisions.

Contrast, Madhya Pradesh mandis such as Shivpuri and Barad saw prices crash to ₹320–₹650, reflecting oversupply and weaker demand. Mandis like Solapur and Rahuri also witnessed lower prices due to higher arrivals and average-quality produce.
Arrival-wise, Mumbai (212.5 MT) and Pune (208.3 MT) recorded the highest inflow of tomatoes. Despite strong demand, heavy arrivals capped further price increases. Meanwhile, mandis with less than 2 MT arrivals such as Rahata, Rahuri, Akluj, and Kamthi continued to witness sharp price spikes.
