A divisional workshop was organized at Vindhya Bhawan, Katanga, to promote the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund (AIF) scheme of the Government of India and to spread awareness among farmers, traders, entrepreneurs, and institutional representatives.

Strengthening Agriculture with a ₹1 Lakh Crore Fund:

During the workshop, officials highlighted that the scheme aims to strengthen agricultural infrastructure and provide financial support across the country. The Government of India has allocated a dedicated fund of ₹1 lakh crore for this purpose. Beneficiaries availing loans under this scheme receive an interest subvention of 3% per annum on approved amounts of up to ₹2 crore.
So far, in the Jabalpur division, banks have sanctioned ₹1,590 crore against 2,164 applications, while across Madhya Pradesh, 15,024 applications have been sanctioned amounting to ₹9,459 crore. With this achievement, Madhya Pradesh has emerged as the leading state in the country.

Interactive Discussions and Solutions:

The workshop witnessed active participation from farmers and traders of Jabalpur division. Participants raised queries related to the scheme, which were addressed by subject experts. Informational material related to the AIF scheme was also distributed for better understanding.

Women’s Participation and Technical Training:

A notable feature of the event was the active participation of women entrepreneurs. Dr. Pooja Singh, Deputy Director (AIF), delivered a detailed presentation on the scheme’s utility and opportunities. She emphasized that AIF benefits can be utilized for infrastructure projects like warehouses, cold storage units, ripening chambers, processing units, dal mills, flour mills, custom hiring centers, spice processing, and bamboo-based industries.
AIF Nodal Officer, Mr. Govind Prasad Sharma, provided hands-on training on the AIF online portal and assured participants of continued support in accessing scheme benefits.

Moving Towards Sustainable Agri-Infrastructure:

Experts urged farmers and entrepreneurs to take full advantage of the scheme to develop modern agri-infrastructure, reduce cultivation costs, and ensure sustainable income growth. The initiative marks a crucial step towards making Indian agriculture more resilient, modern, and profitable.
