MP Government will distribute ₹160 crore under Sambal Yojana through single click in Bhopal

Madhya Pradesh government will disburse a total of ₹160 crore under the Sambal Scheme’s Ex-Gratia Assistance Programme to 7,227 beneficiaries through a single-click transfer on December 16, 2025, at the Mantralaya in Bhopal. The event will be attended by the Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development and Labour, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, along with other ministers and local public representatives from various locations.

Sambal Scheme: A Social Security Shield for Unorganised Workers:

The Sambal Scheme is a crucial social security initiative for millions of workers engaged in the unorganised sector across the state. Under the ex-gratia assistance component, financial support of ₹4 lakh is provided in case of death due to an accident, while ₹2 lakh is given in case of natural death. The scheme also offers ₹2 lakh for permanent disability, ₹1 lakh for partial permanent disability, and ₹5,000 as funeral assistance.

Special Benefits for Women and Children:

The scheme, women workers receive maternity assistance of ₹16,000. In addition, children of registered workers are covered under the College Education Incentive Scheme, through which the state government bears the entire tuition fee for higher education.

Gig and Platform Workers Included:

Following an initiative of NITI Aayog, gig and platform workers in the state have also been brought under the Sambal Scheme, and their registration has begun. These workers are now eligible for all benefits offered under the scheme. Sambal beneficiaries are also issued food security ration cards, enabling them to avail subsidised food grains under central and state government schemes.

Health Security Through Ayushman Bharat: All Sambal beneficiaries have been identified as eligible under the Ayushman Bharat Niramay Scheme, through which they are entitled to free medical treatment worth up to ₹5 lakh per year.

Key Figures So Far: Since the launch of the Sambal Scheme on April 1, 2018, more than 18.3 million workers have been registered, with the process continuing. Under labour department schemes, financial assistance exceeding ₹7,383 crore has been disbursed in over 776,000 cases so far, providing substantial support to workers across the state.
