A slight fluctuation in rice prices was observed across major markets in India today. Trading activity in key mandis of Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh remained slightly higher than usual. In several regions, the demand for high-quality rice stayed firm, keeping prices at elevated levels. On the other hand, areas with increased arrivals saw mild price corrections.
This daily mandi price report is particularly useful for farmers and traders, as it highlights where rice prices rose and where they declined. Let’s take a look at the latest rice prices and market conditions across major mandis in India.
Rice Prices in Maharashtra Mandis:
- Karjat (Raigad) Mandi recorded a total arrival of around 13.5 tonnes of rice today. The price of the Other variety ranged from ₹4,200 to ₹5,800 per quintal. Strong demand for high-quality grains helped prices remain steady at the upper end of the range.
- Mangaon Mandi, around 5.9 tonnes of rice arrived. Prices here ranged between ₹1,900 and ₹4,800 per quintal. Due to higher arrivals and mixed grain quality, the market saw some price fluctuations.
Rice Prices in Uttar Pradesh Mandis:
- Anandnagar Mandi reported arrivals of about 1.5 tonnes, where Grade-III rice was priced between ₹2,800 and ₹3,200 per quintal. Local farmers have started bringing fresh harvests to the market.
- Bangarmau Mandi witnessed a large arrival of 65 tonnes, with Grade-III rice trading between ₹3,120 and ₹3,220 per quintal. Due to the presence of good-quality grains, buyers’ interest remained strong.
- In Banthra Mandi, about 41.3 tonnes of coarse rice arrived. Prices remained stable, ranging between ₹2,570 and ₹2,590 per quintal.
- Baraut Mandi saw an arrival of around 3 tonnes of Grade-III rice, priced between ₹3,250 and ₹3,450 per quintal. Despite limited demand, prices remained steady.
- Firozabad Mandi recorded a significant arrival of 62.5 tonnes. The Common variety traded between ₹3,325 and ₹3,550 per quintal, making it one of the most active trading centers in the state.
- Gopiganj Mandi received 4 tonnes of Grade-III rice, with prices ranging between ₹3,400 and ₹3,460 per quintal. Meanwhile, Jahangirabad Mandi saw 8 tonnes arrive, where prices stood between ₹3,170 and ₹3,360 per quintal.
- In Mugrabadshahpur Mandi, a strong arrival of 25.5 tonnes was recorded. Common variety rice was sold between ₹3,285 and ₹3,485 per quintal.
- Sitapur Mandi reported the highest arrival of the day — around 100 tonnes. The Common variety traded between ₹3,000 and ₹3,220 per quintal. Active buying and selling kept the market lively.
- Doharighat Mandi saw 1 tonne of 1009 Karan variety rice, sold between ₹3,900 and ₹4,000 per quintal. Meanwhile, Nautanwa Mandi recorded a small arrival of 0.2 tonnes, with Grade-III rice trading between ₹2,800 and ₹3,100 per quintal.
- At Vilthara Road Mandi, about 1 tonne of rice arrived, where prices ranged from ₹2,000 to ₹2,200 per quintal, slightly lower compared to neighboring markets.
Advisory for Farmers:
- Farmers with high-quality rice may consider sending their produce to premium markets like Karjat (Maharashtra) or Firozabad (Uttar Pradesh), where prices stayed above ₹3,500 per quintal.
- Regions with heavy arrivals such as Sitapur or Bangarmau, it may be beneficial to wait a little before selling to get better prices later.
- For mixed-quality rice, quick local sales are advisable to reduce storage costs and avoid future price drops.
- Farmers are encouraged to monitor mandi arrivals and price trends closely, as increased harvesting in the coming weeks may lead to downward pressure on prices.
