Market Analysis: Price & Arrival Trends:

The strongest price surge was recorded in Maharashtra’s Kolhapur and Kalyan mandis. In Kolhapur, rice prices touched ₹9,100 per quintal, while Kalyan reported a high of ₹8,800 per quintal. Pune mandi also saw premium rice trading up to ₹7,200 per quintal.

On the other hand, weaker price trends were observed in Uttar Pradesh’s Kishunpur (₹2,380–₹2,420) and Bharwari (₹2,400–₹2,600) mandis.

 Arrival Status

  • Highest arrivals: Banthra APMC (103.1 tonnes), followed by Pratapgarh (75 tonnes) and Rura/Lalitpur (60 tonnes)
  • Moderate arrivals: Pune (53.8 tonnes), Pukhrayan (45 tonnes), Kishunpur (41 tonnes)
  • Low arrivals: Kalyan (0.3 tonnes), Alibag and Murud (around 1 tonne)

High arrivals created price pressure in several markets.
Low arrival mandis supported premium pricing, especially for high-quality rice varieties in Maharashtra.

Advice for Farmers:

  1. Farmers with premium-quality rice should consider selling in Maharashtra mandis like Kolhapur, Kalyan, and Pune for higher profits.
  2. In Uttar Pradesh markets where prices remain between ₹2,400–₹2,700, immediate selling may not be ideal; storage can be considered.
  3. In high-arrival mandis such as Banthra and Pratapgarh, prices may remain stable or slightly weak in the coming days.
  4. Keep an eye on low-arrival, high-price markets where upward price movement is still possible.
