According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rainfall was recorded at a few locations in Madhya Pradesh's Indore, Ujjain, Chambal, Rewa, and Jabalpur divisions over the past 24 hours. Light showers were also observed in some areas of Bhopal and Sagar divisions, while widespread rainfall occurred in several districts of the Gwalior division.
IMD reports indicate that Madhya Pradesh experienced some relief from the scorching heat. A drop of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures was recorded in Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Ujjain, and Gwalior divisions. However, Rewa division saw an increase of up to 2.9°C in maximum temperature. In Bhopal, Indore, Narmadapuram, and Jabalpur divisions, the maximum temperatures remained 5.2°C to 7.0°C below normal. Ujjain, Gwalior, and Sagar divisions saw temperatures drop 3.3°C to 4.9°C below average, while Rewa and Shahdol divisions recorded temperatures 1.6°C to 2.9°C lower than normal.
The highest temperature in the state was 40.8°C in Gwalior, while the lowest minimum temperature of 20.4°C was recorded in Pachmarhi, Narmadapuram.
Despite the ongoing Nautapa period, the weather in Uttar Pradesh remains relatively cool. Overcast conditions prevailed in many districts, including the state capital, Lucknow. The IMD has issued a forecast of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and strong winds for 51 districts across the state. Additionally, there is a warning for possible lightning strikes in isolated areas.
Rajasthan Likely to Witness Changing Weather Patterns Again: Light rainfall was recorded in parts of Jaipur division in Rajasthan. According to the IMD, there will be a slight decline in thunderstorm and rain activities between May 31 and June 1. However, scattered rainfall may occur in parts of eastern Rajasthan.
From June 2 onward, a fresh western disturbance is expected to become active, leading to thunderstorms and rainfall during the afternoon and evening hours from June 2 to June 4. The maximum temperature across the state is likely to remain below 45°C during this period.
