Madhya Pradesh’s Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and in-charge of Bhopal district, Mr. Chaitanya Kashyap, stated that the unique synergy between agriculture and industry in the state is ushering in a new era of economic progress. He described this initiative as a visionary step toward building a self-reliant Madhya Pradesh.

Mr. Kashyap was addressing a conference on “Sustainable Development of Sugarcane Crops and Sugar Factories in Madhya Pradesh” held at Courtyard by Marriott, Bhopal. He emphasized that agriculture is the soul of India, and when linked with industry, it provides farmers with better marketing avenues, technical support, and financial resources—strengthening the rural economy.

Major Progress in Agricultural-Industrial Integration:

The minister highlighted that Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav included industrial participation in the agriculture fair held in Mandsaur on May 3—marking the first historic effort in integrating agriculture with industry in the state. He further noted that the irrigated area in the state has increased significantly from 7 lakh hectares to 55–60 lakh hectares, leading to a notable rise in agriculture’s contribution to the state’s GDP.

Boosting Investment in Sugar Mills:

Mr. Kashyap stated that the state government is actively encouraging investment in sugar mills by offering special incentives in land allotment, electricity, and loan schemes. The aim is to enhance farmers’ income, reduce unemployment, and open new avenues for economic prosperity.

MSME–Agriculture Collaboration Driving Growth: He further emphasized that this coordination between agriculture and industry will benefit both farmers and industrialists. The initiative is a positive and long-term step towards realizing the vision of a self-reliant Madhya Pradesh.

The conference witnessed the participation of senior officials from the MSME and Agriculture departments, sugar factory operators, industrialists, and farmer representatives in large numbers.
