Potato Prices Today - (September 17, 2026)
Potato Prices Today - (September 17, 2026)

Farmers planning to sell potatoes should check the latest mandi prices for September 17, 2026 before taking their produce to the market. Potato prices showed a significant difference across markets in Delhi, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. In Maharashtra, Bhusawal market recorded the highest maximum price of ₹2,000 per quintal, while Delhi’s Azadpur market reported a maximum price of ₹1,900 per quintal. In contrast, several markets in Uttar Pradesh recorded maximum prices between ₹500 and ₹800 per quintal.

Arrivals also varied sharply between the markets. Azadpur market received the highest potato arrival at 1,813.30 tonnes, while Fatehabad market in Uttar Pradesh recorded 1,205 tonnes. Interestingly, Azadpur had the highest arrival but its maximum price was ₹1,900, whereas Bhusawal reached ₹2,000 with only 7.8 tonnes of arrivals.

The figures show that potato prices are not determined by arrivals alone. Produce quality, local demand and transportation expenses can also affect the price received by farmers and the actual return after selling the crop.

Therefore, before choosing a market, farmers should compare the today mandi price with rates and arrivals in nearby mandis. The complete market-wise potato prices and arrivals for September 17, 2026, are given below.

Important Points for Farmers:

  1. Farmers should avoid choosing a mandi based only on its maximum price. The difference in arrivals between markets is substantial, so transportation cost, distance, produce quality and the prevailing market rate should all be considered before taking potatoes for sale.
  2. Before leaving for the mandi, check the today mandi price and latest mandi price in nearby markets. If another market is offering a better rate, calculate the additional transportation expense first and then compare the effective return before making a selling decision.
