Potato markets across India witnessed major volatility today. The highest arrivals were recorded in Delhi’s Azadpur mandi, where 2,243.7 tonnes reached the market. The heavy supply pushed the minimum price down to just ₹300 per quintal, one of the lowest rates of the day.
Although Ghazipur and Keshopur mandis also received substantial arrivals, prices there remained stronger. On the other hand, the highest price for potatoes was seen in Ara (Bihar), where the Jyoti variety touched ₹2200 per quintal. Keshopur in Delhi also reported a strong upper range of ₹1600 per quintal.
Madhya Pradesh, however, faced the sharpest decline.
Contrast, Bihar’s Brahmpur and Ara mandis continued to offer stable and profitable prices, indicating firm demand. Ghazipur’s rates, reaching ₹1500 per quintal, showed market strength despite heavy supply.
