PM Modi to Launch Agricultural and Allied Sector Projects Worth Over ₹42,000 Crore, Aiming for a New Era of Farm Empowerment

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in a special agricultural programme at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) in New Delhi at 10:30 AM on October 11, 2025. During the event, the Prime Minister will interact with farmers and later address a public gathering focused on major agricultural reforms and rural transformation.

Strengthening Farmer Welfare and Rural Development:

This programme highlights the Prime Minister’s continued commitment to farmer welfare, agricultural self-reliance, and rural infrastructure development. The focus will be on modernizing agriculture, empowering farmers, and celebrating key milestones achieved through government-led initiatives in the farm and allied sectors.

Launch of Two Major Schemes Worth ₹35,440 Crore:

Prime Minister Modi will unveil two landmark schemes aimed at transforming Indian agriculture, with a combined outlay of ₹35,440 crore.

PM Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana – ₹24,000 Crore:

This flagship scheme aims to enhance agricultural productivity, promote crop diversification, and encourage sustainable farming practices. It will also strengthen irrigation infrastructure and post-harvest storage facilities at the panchayat and block levels. The scheme targets 100 districts, ensuring better access to short-term and long-term credit for farmers.

Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses – ₹11,440 Crore:

The new mission seeks to achieve self-reliance in pulses production by improving productivity, expanding cultivation areas, and strengthening the value chain from procurement and processing to storage and loss reduction. During the event, the Prime Minister will also interact with pulse-growing farmers who have benefitted from government support.

Inauguration and Foundation Stone of Projects Worth ₹6,265 Crore:

Addition to launching new schemes, PM Modi will inaugurate and dedicate to the nation projects worth over ₹5,450 crore in the agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, and food processing sectors, and lay the foundation stone for additional projects worth ₹815 crore.

Key Projects to be Inaugurated Include:

  1. Artificial Insemination Training Centres in Bengaluru and Jammu & Kashmir
  2. Centres of Excellence in Amreli and Banas
  3. IVF Lab in Assam under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission
  4. Milk Powder Plants in Mehsana, Indore, and Bhilwara
  5. Fish Feed Plant at Tezpur, Assam under PM Matsya Sampada Yojana
  6. Agro-processing clusters, integrated cold chains, and value addition facilities

Projects for Foundation Laying Include:

  1. Integrated Cold Chain and Value Addition Infrastructure in Krishna, Andhra Pradesh
  2. Trout Fisheries Project in Uttarakhand
  3. Integrated Aqua Park in Nagaland
  4. Smart Fishing Harbour in Karaikal, Puducherry
  5. State-of-the-art Aqua Park in Hirakud, Odisha

Recognition of Farmer and Cooperative Achievements:

During the event, the Prime Minister will distribute certificates to farmers certified under the National Mission for Natural Farming, MAITRI technicians, and Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) converted into Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samriddhi Kendras (PMKSKs) and Common Service Centres (CSCs).

Milestones in Agricultural Transformation:

The event will also celebrate several achievements under government initiatives, including:

  1. 50 lakh farmers joining 10,000 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), with 1,100 FPOs recording annual turnovers above ₹1 crore.
  2. 50,000 farmers certified under the Natural Farming Mission.
  3. 38,000 MAITRI technicians certified across rural India.
  4. Over 10,000 e-PACS digitized and operationalized.
  5. 10,000 PACS diversified to function as PMKSKs and CSCs, expanding their role in rural service delivery.

Direct Engagement with Beneficiary Farmers: The Prime Minister will interact with farmers engaged in pulses cultivation, animal husbandry, and fisheries, who have benefitted from initiatives such as the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) and FPO memberships. These interactions will highlight the value-chain-based model driving productivity, sustainability, and income growth across rural India.
