Weather

The weather in Delhi-NCR has been pleasant over the past few days, with cloudy skies, intermittent light showers, and cool breezes offering residents much-needed relief from the summer heat. The maximum temperature has been hovering around 34°C, making both day and night comfortable.

However, this pleasant spell may not last long. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a change in weather is expected from June 5 onwards. Temperatures are likely to rise steadily, and by June 8, the mercury in Delhi could reach up to 40°C, bringing back intense heat and humidity.

Weather to Shift This Evening in Delhi:

As per IMD forecasts, the weather is expected to change this evening in Delhi and surrounding areas. Strong winds, blowing at a speed of 30–40 km/h, may occur along with light rainfall or drizzle.

Heat to Return After June 5 in Delhi-NCR:

Rising temperatures are expected in Delhi-NCR from June 5 onwards. Both day and night temperatures will increase. The current nighttime low of 22–23°C is predicted to rise to 27–28°C between June 6 and June 8.

Heavy Rainfall and Flood Situation in Other Parts of India: The southwest monsoon has arrived earlier than usual this year in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Goa, and the northeastern states. Several regions have already witnessed heavy rains, disrupting normal life.

In Mumbai and parts of Kerala, torrential rain has led to waterlogging. Meanwhile, states like Assam, Manipur, and Sikkim are facing flood and landslide situations. Rescue and relief operations have been initiated with the help of the army in affected areas.

Storm and Rain Alerts for Central and Eastern India: Light rainfall is also likely in parts of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. According to IMD, thunderstorms, lightning, and wind speeds reaching 40–50 km/h are expected in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal between June 4 and June 7.
