Onion Price Report – September 28: Where Are Rates Highest and Lowest?

Onion Price Today – 28 September
Onion Price Today – 28 September

On September 27, onion markets across India witnessed sharp fluctuations in prices. In Delhi’s largest Azadpur mandi, heavy arrivals pushed prices downward, while in Haryana, limited supply in certain mandis drove rates to new highs.

For farmers and traders, the day was crucial while some mandis recorded onion selling as high as ₹2,500 per quintal, in others, prices slumped to just ₹300 per quintal. Choosing the right mandi and the right timing remains the key to securing better returns.

Advice for Farmers

  1. In mandis with heavy arrivals and weak prices (like Badnawar and Azadpur), it may be wise to hold stock for now.
  2. In markets with limited arrivals but strong demand (such as Haryana mandis), farmers can benefit from immediate sales.
  3. With festive demand likely to rise in the coming weeks, onion prices may improve—farmers should consider partial sales now and store the rest.
  4. For longer storage, farmers are advised to use cold storage facilities to maintain quality and take advantage of higher prices in the near future.
