Onion Prices Today Range from ₹100 to ₹2,500 per Quintal – Full State-Wise Report

Onion Price Today 7 September 2025
Onion Price Today 7 September 2025

Attention Farmers! Today’s onion prices across India’s mandis have shown extreme fluctuations. In some markets, farmers were forced to sell onions for as little as ₹100 per quintal, while in others prices shot up to ₹2,500 per quintal.

High arrivals in key mandis kept prices under pressure, whereas low arrivals and superior quality onions fetched premium rates. Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh reported the sharpest ups and downs. This trend is crucial for both farmers and traders, as timing and location of sales can determine profit margins.

Let’s take a closer look at today’s state-wise onion prices (07 September 2025):

Price & Arrival Analysis:

  • Highest Price: Gujarat’s Jetpur mandi at ₹2,510/quintal, and Haryana’s Hansi & Gohana at ₹2,500/quintal.
  • Lowest Price: Madhya Pradesh’s Narsinghgarh mandi at just ₹100/quintal, and Neemuch at ₹140/quintal.
  • Heaviest Arrivals: MP’s Indore mandi (3312 tonnes) and Ujjain (356 tonnes) – keeping prices under pressure.
  • Low Arrivals, High Prices: Bihar (Jaynagar, Barahat), Haryana (Farrukhnagar, Hansi, Gohana), and Gujarat (Jetpur, Khambhat) recorded strong rates due to limited supply.
  • Major Price Drops: Heavy supply in MP and Gujarat mandis such as Indore, Mahuva, Mehsana, Rajkot kept prices below ₹1,500.
  • Stable Prices: Most UP and Bihar markets held steady between ₹1,300–₹1,600/quintal.

Advisory for Farmers:

  1. Avoid distress sales in heavy-arrival mandis like Indore, Ujjain, Mahuva – consider storage.
  2. Sell immediately in high-price mandis like Jetpur (Gujarat) and Hansi, Gohana, Farrukhnagar (Haryana) for maximum profit.
  3. UP & Bihar farmers should sell partially and store the rest, as festive demand may push prices higher.
  4. Safe storage for 15–20 days could yield better returns as market prices are expected to rise.
