In Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, red onion prices remained around or slightly above the Minimum Support Price (MSP). Premium-quality onions were purchased at higher rates, while average-quality onions traded steadily.
Experts suggest that onion prices may improve slightly in the coming days, especially in areas with limited arrivals. Onion Prices in Uttar Pradesh:
- Doharighat Mandi: 10 tonnes of red onions arrived today. Prices ranged between ₹1,900 and ₹2,000 per quintal. Market demand was balanced, keeping prices stable.
- Ghiror Mandi: 7.5 tonnes of red onions arrived. Prices ranged from ₹1,110 to ₹1,310 per quintal. Limited arrivals kept prices at a moderate level.
- Gulawati Mandi: 0.2 tonnes of onions arrived. Prices ranged between ₹1,400 and ₹1,600 per quintal. Higher quality onions commanded better rates.
- Hathras Mandi: 50 tonnes of red onions arrived. Prices ranged between ₹1,300 and ₹1,400 per quintal. Despite high arrivals, trade remained active, providing satisfactory rates to farmers.
- Lalganj Mandi: 8 tonnes of onions arrived. Prices ranged from ₹1,000 to ₹1,200 per quintal. Medium-quality onions sold at stable rates.
- Magalganj Mandi: 5 tonnes of red onions arrived. Prices ranged between ₹2,900 and ₹2,950 per quintal. Superior quality onions fetched relatively higher prices.
- Mainpuri Mandi: 12.4 tonnes of onions arrived. Prices ranged from ₹1,100 to ₹1,300 per quintal. Trading proceeded at a normal pace.
- Manjhanpur Mandi: 16.5 tonnes of onions arrived. Prices ranged from ₹1,200 to ₹1,370 per quintal. Trade was slow but prices remained stable.
- Raebareli Mandi: 19.5 tonnes of onions arrived. Prices ranged from ₹1,325 to ₹1,375 per quintal. Medium-to-high quality onions sold well.
- Sehjanwa Mandi: 1 tonne of onions arrived. Prices ranged from ₹1,490 to ₹1,505 per quintal. Low arrivals pushed prices higher.
- Shahdabad Mandi: 1 tonne of onions arrived. Prices ranged from ₹1,700 to ₹1,800 per quintal.
- Sikarpur Mandi: 3 tonnes of onions arrived. Prices ranged between ₹900 and ₹1,100 per quintal.

- Garh Shankar (Mahalpur) Mandi: 5.7 tonnes of onions arrived. Prices ranged from ₹900 to ₹1,400 per quintal.
- Garh Shankar (Kotfatuhi) Mandi: 0.7 tonnes of onions arrived. Prices ranged between ₹1,200 and ₹1,400 per quintal.
- Ghanour Mandi: 0.2 tonnes of onions arrived. Prices ranged from ₹1,300 to ₹1,500 per quintal.
- Lalru Mandi: 4.1 tonnes of onions arrived. Prices ranged from ₹1,000 to ₹2,000 per quintal.
