Today, onion markets across India witnessed sharp fluctuations in prices. Major mandis in Madhya Pradesh including Indore, Ratlam, and Ujjain recorded a significant fall due to heavy arrivals, while markets in Bihar, such as Barahat and Sasaram, saw onion prices holding firm at higher levels.

For farmers, this is an important signal avoid rushing to sell your stock, as demand is expected to rise in the coming days, which may lead to improved prices. Overall, today’s Onion Mandi Bhav presented mixed trends while some markets saw a drop, others touched new highs.

  2. Focus on Storage: Small farmers are advised to dry and store onions properly to take advantage of potential price recovery in the coming weeks.
  3. Sell High-Quality Stock: Farmers in areas producing premium-quality onions (like Ratlam and Barahat) can go ahead with selling, as current prices are favorable.
  4. Expect Seasonal Recovery: With upcoming festivals and colder weather, onion consumption is likely to rise a possible trigger for market recovery soon.
