Major relief for farmers, the Odisha government has announced a ₹69 per quintal increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy for the 2025–26 Kharif marketing season. With the revised pricing, common grade paddy will now be procured at ₹3,169 per quintal, while Grade-A paddy will fetch ₹3,189 per quintal, up from last year’s MSP of ₹3,100 per quintal for the common category.
According to an official notification issued by the Odisha Department of Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare, the revised MSP rates will apply to all paddy procured during the ongoing Kharif marketing season.
The central government had set the national MSP for paddy at ₹2,369 per quintal. Building upon this, the Odisha government has introduced an additional input subsidy of ₹800 per quintal to support farmers further.
The department stated that the decision aims to stabilize farmers’ income, offset rising input costs, and strengthen sustainability in agriculture.

Since paddy is the state’s dominant agricultural crop, the MSP hike is expected to significantly strengthen incomes, especially for small and marginal farmers, ensuring better price realization and improved financial security.
