A Lucrative Opportunity for Livestock Farmers, The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying is offering livestock farmers across Madhya Pradesh the opportunity to establish dairy units under the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana, with the support of bank loans and government subsidies. This scheme aims to boost income and promote dairy entrepreneurship among all categories of farmers.

Eligibility and Application Process:

Interested applicants must be residents of Madhya Pradesh and should own at least 3.5 acres of agricultural land. Applications can be submitted online through the official portal: www.mpdah.gov.in.

Key Features of the Scheme:

1. Each dairy unit will consist of 25 milch animals.
2. Units must consist of either all cows or all buffaloes—mixing is not allowed.
3. All animals in one unit should belong to the same breed.

Eligible cattle breeds include:

1. Indigenous cows: Sahiwal, Gir, Tharparkar, Red Sindhi
2. Crossbreeds: HF (Holstein Friesian), Jersey
3. Buffalo breeds: Murrah, Bhadawari, Surti, Mehsana

Mandatory Training: To avail benefits under the scheme, applicants must undergo training in dairy farming or animal husbandry from a recognized government institution or authorized college. A training certificate must be submitted along with the application.

Subsidy Structure

1. SC/ST beneficiaries: 33% of the total project cost
2. Other categories: 25% of the total project cost
