To reduce the labour, time, and cost involved in crop harvesting, the Madhya Pradesh government has announced major relief for farmers. Under the e-Agricultural Machinery Subsidy Scheme, farmers are being offered a 40% to 50% subsidy on tractor-operated and self-propelled reaper cum binders. The Department of Agricultural Engineering, Madhya Pradesh, has invited online applications from eligible farmers under this scheme.
Reaper cum binders are available in two variants: Tractor-operated reaper cum binder, which is attached to and operated by a tractor, Self-propelled reaper cum binder, which runs on battery power.
These machines enable fast and efficient harvesting of crops such as wheat, paddy, and other cereals. Their use significantly reduces dependence on manual labour, saves time, and lowers overall harvesting costs for farmers.
Eligible farmers applying for tractor-operated and self-propelled reaper cum binders will be selected through a lottery system. According to the department, the lottery will be conducted on 16 January 2026. The selection process will be fully transparent and carried out strictly as per prescribed guidelines.
Subsidy Details:
The e-Agricultural Machinery Subsidy Scheme, the subsidy amount for reaper cum binders depends on the farmer’s category and landholding size. Separate subsidy provisions are available for: General category farmers, Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) farmers, Women farmers. In general, farmers can avail a subsidy ranging from 40% to 50%. The exact subsidy amount can be checked using the subsidy calculator available on the e-Agricultural Machinery portal.
As per the Department of Agricultural Engineering, submitting a security deposit at the time of application is mandatory. Farmers must submit the required amount through a Demand Draft (DD) drawn from their own bank account in favour of the Assistant Agricultural Engineer of the concerned district. Tractor-operated reaper cum binder: ₹7,500, Self-propelled reaper cum binder: ₹15,000. Applications without the required security deposit will not be accepted.
