Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: A high-level Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav at the state secretariat has approved a series of major public-interest decisions. The deliberations focused on women’s empowerment, preservation of cultural heritage, and the expansion of renewable energy infrastructure.

Monthly Assistance, Ladli Behna Scheme Increased to ₹1500:

The state government has approved an increase in financial assistance under the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana, raising the amount from ₹1250 to ₹1500 per month.

  • The scheme was launched in March 2023 with ₹1000 monthly support
  • The assistance was increased to ₹1250 in September 2023
  • The revised amount of ₹1500 will come into effect from November 2025

The enhancement will require an additional budget allocation of ₹1,793.75 crore in the financial year 2025–26, taking the total estimated annual expenditure to ₹20,450.99 crore.

Solar Rooftop Projects Approved for Government Buildings:

PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, solar rooftop systems will be installed across government buildings in Madhya Pradesh using the RESCO (Renewable Energy Service Company) model.

Key highlights of the RESCO model:

  • No upfront investment required from government departments
  • Electricity charges will be paid per unit to the RESCO developer at rates lower than DISCOM tariffs
  • Maintenance of solar units will be handled by the RESCO agency for 25 years
  • Earlier, tenders were to be issued district-wise; now, a single integrated tender will be floated
  • Systems below 20 kW capacity will also come under the RESCO model, while CAPEX mode will be used in forest and off-grid locations
