The government of Madhya Pradesh has earmarked ₹23,882 crore for the 2026–27 financial year to continue its flagship women-focused assistance program, underscoring its commitment to strengthening financial security for women across the state. Officials describe the initiative as one of the most impactful social welfare measures in the budget, indicating that it will remain a key priority in the coming years.

Over 12.5 million Women Receiving Benefits:

Currently, more than 12.5 million women are enrolled in the scheme. Such large-scale participation reflects strong public trust and widespread acceptance. According to government statements, regular financial support has helped improve beneficiaries’ economic stability and enhanced their role in household decision-making.

Monthly Assistance Increased to ₹1,500:

Eligible women receive direct monthly transfers into their bank accounts. The benefit amount began at ₹1,000, was later raised to ₹1,250, and has now been increased to ₹1,500. This increment is considered especially helpful for managing household expenses amid rising living costs.

Budget Provision Ensures Smooth Payments:

The allocation for 2026–27 is intended to guarantee uninterrupted disbursement of installments. Authorities emphasize that sufficient funds have been set aside to prevent delays and maintain continuity. Policy observers note that the program has created a reliable financial safety net for women in both rural and urban areas.

Focus on Financial Independence:

Officials state that the objective extends beyond monetary aid; it aims to encourage long-term self-reliance among women. Direct bank transfers ensure transparency and eliminate intermediaries, allowing benefits to reach recipients without obstacles. This process has also supported wider adoption of digital payment systems.

33 Instalments Released So Far:

Since its launch, 33 instalments have already been distributed. On average, each beneficiary has received between ₹38,000 and ₹42,000 in total assistance, depending on eligibility duration. Thousands of crores have been transferred directly into beneficiaries’ accounts, making it one of the state’s largest direct-benefit initiatives for women.

Continued Support with Scope for Future Increase:

The latest budget allocation confirms that the monthly ₹1,500 payment will continue without interruption. There is also ongoing expectation that the assistance amount could be enhanced in the future. Overall, the program has established itself as a major pillar of social and economic empowerment for women in the state.
