The southwest monsoon has begun to weaken in Madhya Pradesh. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the process of monsoon withdrawal will commence from October 10. Around 12 districts have already witnessed monsoon withdrawal, and the rest are likely to follow within the next three to four days.
The state capital Bhopal, the day remained sunny on Tuesday, followed by cloudy skies and light drizzles in some areas during the evening. The IMD has clarified that there is no forecast of heavy rainfall for the next five days, and conditions remain favorable for the complete withdrawal of the monsoon.
Signs of monsoon retreat are also visible in Uttar Pradesh. The IMD has ruled out any chances of heavy rainfall across the state between October 9 and 13. However, light showers may occur in some eastern districts on October 8, while western Uttar Pradesh is expected to remain dry. A dip of 2–3°C in the minimum temperature is also anticipated over the next three days.
Districts such as Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Saharanpur, and Muzaffarnagar in western UP are expected to witness clear skies and sunny weather in the coming days. In contrast, light showers are possible in eastern UP districts including Varanasi weather, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, and Ghazipur.
Unseasonal Rains Ease in Rajasthan:
Rajasthan, the spell of unseasonal rainfall that persisted for nearly 10 days has now subsided. The rains were triggered by a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal, but its impact has weakened. The IMD has forecast dry weather for the coming days, with only light cloud cover expected in parts of the state.
