Patna: The Bihar government is actively promoting horticulture among farmers by launching new schemes. Under the Mango and Litchi Area Expansion Scheme 2025-26, part of the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH), farmers can now apply online. The scheme aims to increase the area under mango and litchi cultivation, provide high-quality planting material, and boost farmers’ income.
The scheme supports mango cultivation in all 38 districts of Bihar, while litchi cultivation is being expanded in six key districts: Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, East Champaran, Samastipur, Siwan, and Vaishali. Farmers can receive assistance for a minimum of 0.25 acre (0.1 hectare) up to 5 acres (2 hectares) under this program.
