  1. Maharashtra, premium Sharbati wheat sold for ₹5,000 to ₹5,500 per quintal,
  2. But in Bihar and several other states, wheat prices stayed almost unchanged.

  4. Or is the market preparing for another correction?

Price & Arrival Analysis:

Wheat prices in Maharashtra showed extraordinary variation today. The sharpest rise was recorded in Pune APMC, where Sharbati wheat touched ₹5,500 per quintal, the highest rate in the country for the day. Mumbai also witnessed strong buying interest, pushing prices up to ₹5,000 per quintal.

However, the contrast was stark in markets trading regular or 2189-grade wheat.
Minimum prices in Aurd Shahajani, Akola and Amravati hovered between ₹2,380 and ₹2,450, indicating pressure on lower-grade lots.

Strong upward movement was seen in several mandis:

  1. Pune: Sharbati recorded the day’s highest jump
  2. Nagpur: Sharbati maintained strong prices at ₹3,200–₹3,500
  3. Lasalgaon: Prices firmed up to ₹2,870
  4. Mumbai: Despite massive arrivals of over 513 tonnes, prices remained strong due to high demand

Meanwhile, Muzaffarpur in Bihar remained stable at ₹2,560–₹2,700, and markets like Akola, Jalna and Amravati traded just slightly above MSP.
In low-arrival mandis such as Kalyan, Manora and Deola, prices stayed firm due to limited supply combined with premium-quality stock.

Important Advice for Farmers

  1. Sharbati wheat growers should prefer selling in Pune, Nagpur and Kalyan right now prices are at peak levels.
  2. Regions where regular wheat is trading near MSP, farmers may wait a bit, as rates are expected to improve in the coming days.
  3. High-arrival mandis like Mumbai and Jalna, farmers should sell gradually to secure better average prices.
  4. Over the next 10–15 days, festive and mill demand is likely to rise high-quality wheat may see an additional jump.
