Maharashtra government has provided major relief to women beneficiaries by extending the e-KYC deadline under the Mukhyamantri Mazi Ladki Bahna Yojana. Women can now complete their e-KYC process until 31 December 2025. The earlier deadline was 18 November 2025, but due to technical issues and natural calamities, lakhs of women were unable to complete the process on time.
Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare stated that more than 1.10 crore women could not update their e-KYC because of server and network failures. Natural disasters in several districts further delayed the process, prompting the government to extend the timeline.
The guidelines have been revised. Women whose husband or father has passed away, or women who are divorced, must complete their e-KYC personally. They will be required to submit a verified copy of the death certificate, divorce certificate, or court order at the District Women and Child Development Office.
Eligibility Criteria:
Required Documents: Aadhaar card, ID proof, bank details, caste certificate, residence certificate, income certificate, ration card, birth certificate, photograph, and other necessary documents.
Women Not Eligible for the Scheme:
A Significant Relief for Women: Government’s decision to extend the deadline has simplified the process for lakhs of women. The move reflects the administration’s sensitivity toward women’s welfare, especially considering the technical challenges and natural disasters that hindered timely completion of e-KYC.
