Minister of State for Cottage and Village Industries (Independent Charge), Mr. Dilip Jaiswal, stated that the department has set a target to double production every five years. Additionally, aligning with the vision of a 'Developed India by 2047', the goal is to increase production by 16 times by that year.
Mr. Jaiswal informed that to achieve this ambitious target, the department is providing training, modern equipment, support for new units and start-ups, and ensuring access to essential resources. Currently, the department contributes ₹135.37 crore to the state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which is targeted to rise to ₹2165.92 crore by 2047.
To reach the 2047 targets, the minister shared key strategies including registration of new industrial units, training in modern and diverse trades, boosting exports, incorporating innovative designs and colors in products, providing advanced tools and machinery, organizing international-level trade exhibitions, and establishing new global sales centers.
Mr. Jaiswal highlighted that the department is actively encouraging youth, especially in semi-urban and rural areas, to pursue self-employment. New start-ups are being promoted, and local training is being provided in handloom and various industrial crafts. In addition, basic infrastructure is being made available to ensure dignified employment for youth.
Economic Support and Loan Facilities for Farmers: The minister further stated that under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and the Chief Minister Kisan Kalyan Yojana, farmers in the state are receiving annual financial assistance of ₹12,000. Moreover, the state government is offering loans to farmers at zero percent interest to help strengthen their financial standing.
