Get up to ₹1.35 Lakh Subsidy for Constructing Farm Ponds – Apply by September 30

To promote water conservation for irrigation, the government is running the Kisan Farm Pond Scheme. Under this initiative, eligible farmers can receive a subsidy of up to ₹1.35 lakh for constructing farm ponds to harvest rainwater. To avail the benefits, farmers must apply by September 30, 2025.

Objective and Benefits of the Scheme:

In a drought-prone state like Rajasthan, water scarcity poses a major challenge for farmers each year. This scheme aims to encourage the collection of rainwater on farmlands to improve irrigation and recharge groundwater levels. The initiative helps reduce irrigation costs, increase crop productivity, and minimize dependency on traditional water sources.

Subsidy Details:

• Farmer Category Earthen Pond Plastic-Lined Pond
• SC/ST, Small & Marginal Farmers  ₹73,500 ₹1,35,000
• Other Farmers  ₹63,000 ₹1,20,000
• The government covers up to 70% of the construction cost, while the remaining 30% is borne by the farmer.

Eligibility Criteria:

• The applicant must own at least 0.3 hectares of land in their name.
• In case of joint landholding, each co-owner must have a minimum of 0.3 hectares.
• The pond size must be between 400 and 1200 cubic meters.
• A minimum distance of 50 feet is required between two farm ponds.

Additional Conditions:

• Subsidy will only be granted after installation of a sprinkler or drip irrigation system.
• Joint landholders are also eligible for subsidy under specific terms.
• SC/ST farmers are entitled to higher subsidy rates.

How to Apply: Farmers can apply online via e-Mitra centers or the Raj Kisan Portal. The following documents are required for application:

• Land ownership record (Jamabandi Nakal)
• Land map
• Jan Aadhaar Card
• Small and Marginal Farmer Certificate (if applicable)
