Irrigation and Education: ₹1,400 Crore Reservoir Project Announced in Kundam, Employment Opportunities for Youth

The Government of Madhya Pradesh has announced a significant gift for the farmers of Jabalpur and Mandla districts with the construction of the Gaumukh Reservoir near village Chapara in Kundam. This ambitious project, worth ₹1,400 crore, will enable irrigation across 25,000 hectares of farmland—benefiting 14,900 hectares in Jabalpur and 10,100 hectares in Mandla.

Educational and Technical Advancements in Tribal Regions:

While inaugurating the Sandipani Vidyalaya and a new ITI campus in Chapara, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized the government's commitment to the progress of tribal-dominated areas through education and skill development. These institutions aim to shape a brighter future for local youth by providing quality education and vocational training.

Madhya Pradesh’s New Milestones in Education:

Highlighting the state’s achievements in education, the Chief Minister shared that Sandipani Schools have gained international recognition. Vinoba CM Rise School in Ratlam received the World’s Best School Prize 2024 in the Innovation category, while CM Rise Model School in Jhabua was awarded in the Supporting Healthy Life category. Government school students in the state are now outperforming their private counterparts, reflecting a positive transformation in the education system.

Irrigation and Water Conservation Initiatives:

The Chief Minister also spoke about ongoing water conservation efforts, including the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan, under which 70,000 farm ponds have been constructed in just three months. The state aims to reach a total of 75,000. Additionally, three river linking projects inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi are currently underway. At a recent three-day agriculture fair in Narsinghpur, farmers were introduced to modern technologies and advanced farming techniques.

Ladli Behna Scheme Benefits to Increase: Dr. Yadav announced that under the Ladli Behna Yojana, the financial assistance provided to women will be increased on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, with the goal of raising the amount to ₹3,000 over the next five years.

Ongoing Development under Prime Minister Modi's Leadership: The Chief Minister praised the continuous development taking place in Madhya Pradesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. He noted that on June 9, the state will celebrate 11 years of the Prime Minister's tenure by sharing government achievements across districts. The newly inaugurated rail bridge over the Chinaw River was also highlighted as a major infrastructural accomplishment.

Kundam ITI: A Hub for Technical Education: Minister of State for Technical Education, Skill Development, and Employment, Dr. Gautam Tetwal, stated that the modern ITI campus in Kundam, built at a cost of ₹12.63 crore, includes training facilities, a hostel, and staff quarters. The institution will offer skill-based education to youth, preparing them for better employment opportunities.
