At the grand ‘Karmachari Sankalp Sammelan’ held in New Delhi, Union Minister for Agriculture, Farmers’ Welfare, and Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, addressed the gathering and emphasized that every day and every moment of life is precious.

Boost in Pulses, Oilseeds, and Cotton Production:

The Minister highlighted that the ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan’ has proven to be a historic initiative for the Kharif season. Under this campaign, 2,170 teams of scientists reached villages across the country, engaging with farmers and generating more than 500 research-based insights. He noted that while India has sufficient food grain reserves, challenges remain in enhancing the production of pulses, oilseeds, cotton, and in promoting natural farming practices.

No More Fake Fertilizers in Fields:

Shri Chouhan stressed that strict action is being taken against unverified bio-stimulants and counterfeit fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides. Earlier, around 30,000 products were available in the market, but now only 600 have been certified after a rigorous three-tier testing process by ICAR.

Towards a ‘Karmyogi Sankalp Sammelan’:

The Minister proposed that from next year, the program should be renamed ‘Karmyogi Sankalp Sammelan’. He underlined that every employee and officer plays a crucial role in the nation’s development and deserves respect and dignity.

Women Empowerment through the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ Mission:

Highlighting women’s empowerment, Shri Chouhan informed that the target set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to create 3 crore ‘Lakhpati Didis’ has seen remarkable success. So far, around 2.8 crore women have achieved this milestone. Many women who were once confined to their homes are now self-reliant and achieving new heights.

Faster Progress in Rural Housing and Infrastructure:

The Minister also shared that rural housing schemes have achieved record progress, with houses being completed in just 114 days. Development of rural roads and housing infrastructure has significantly transformed the standard of living in villages.

Nation First and Swadeshi Commitment:

Reiterating the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Nation First’ and ‘Adopt Swadeshi’, Shri Chouhan appealed to people to use indigenous products. He said this would not only create employment opportunities but also strengthen the national economy.
