The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that weather conditions will remain unstable over the next few days in parts of central and eastern India. Farmers should be prepared for rain, strong winds, lightning, and possible hailstorms in several regions.
A cyclonic system has formed in the upper air over northeast Rajasthan and northwest Madhya Pradesh. Due to this, a trough has extended all the way to Bangladesh. This system is causing cloudy skies, gusty winds, lightning, and rainfall in many areas.
According to the IMD, weather in 40 districts of Madhya Pradesh may remain disturbed till May 5. Hail may fall in districts like Satna, Maihar, Katni, Umaria, Shahdol, Dindori, and Anuppur, which could damage standing crops.
Rain and thunderstorms are also likely in Bhopal, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Morena, Shivpuri, Guna, Sagar, Rewa, Sidhi, Balaghat, Chhindwara, Tikamgarh, and nearby areas.
Apart from MP, states like Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, and Sikkim may experience light to moderate rainfall till May 3. Wind speeds could reach 40–60 km/h, with chances of lightning in some places.
How long will this weather last?
As per IMD, similar weather will continue in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh till May 5, and in eastern states till May 3. People are advised to stay updated with weather reports and follow safety instructions.
