To promote modernization and advancement in agriculture, the Department of Agriculture is implementing various schemes to benefit farmers. Under these initiatives, farmers are provided subsidies for purchasing modern agricultural equipment through the E-Agricultural Machinery Portal.
Registered farmers can avail subsidies on the purchase of various machines including:
According to Mr. U.P. Bagri, Deputy Director of Agriculture, farmers can register on the E-Agricultural Machinery Portal using a UIDAI-approved fingerprint scanner. Alternatively, they can register by uploading their Aadhaar card and a photograph. At the time of registration, farmers must submit a declaration stating that they have not previously received a subsidy for the same type of equipment within the designated time frame.
Choose Preferred Vendor and Equipment After Registration:
After successful registration, farmers will be shown a list of authorized dealers in their district and nearby areas on the portal. Additionally, a unique code will be sent via SMS to the registered mobile number. This code allows the selected dealer to access the farmer’s application. Farmers can compare prices and features of equipment listed by various dealers and choose the most suitable option.
Purchase Timeline and Rules: After registration, farmers must complete the purchase within 10 days. If not, the registration will be automatically canceled, and the farmer will be ineligible for re-registration for the next 6 months.
A farmer may apply for a maximum of two pieces of equipment in a year. Re-purchase of the same type of machinery will only be allowed based on the following time limits:
Powered and automated agricultural implements: once every 5 years:
Irrigation pumps, drip systems, sprinklers, rain guns, and diesel/electric pumps: once every 7 years
Additionally, if a farmer wishes to purchase tractor-operated machinery, they must own a tractor with the appropriate horsepower.
Benefit Distribution Policy:
Subsidies will be granted on a "first come, first served" basis to eligible applicants through the portal.
Farmers are encouraged to register promptly and take advantage of this opportunity to reduce the cost of modernizing their agricultural practices.
