Heavy rain lashes Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan

The monsoon has once again intensified across North India. Continuous rainfall in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR, and Rajasthan has disrupted public life. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rain alerts for several districts in the coming days, urging people to remain cautious.

Uttar Pradesh Weather: Heavy Rain Warning in 25 Districts:

Uttar Pradesh has been witnessing persistent rainfall for the past two days. The state capital, Lucknow, and several other districts recorded moderate to heavy showers.
The IMD’s Lucknow center has issued an orange and yellow alert for 25 districts on Wednesday, September 3.

  • In western UP, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Firozabad, Agra, Jalaun, Etawah, and Hamirpur are likely to receive heavy downpours.
  • In Bundelkhand, Jhansi, Mahoba, and Lalitpur may also witness intense rainfall.

Weather experts have warned that apart from heavy showers, rising temperatures in the coming days could lead to humid and uncomfortable conditions.

Delhi-NCR Weather: Red Alert Issued, Schools Closed:

The national capital and adjoining areas have been reeling under heavy rains for the last 48 hours. Waterlogging and traffic jams have thrown public life out of gear.
The IMD has issued a red alert for Delhi-NCR on Wednesday.

  • Authorities in Noida and Ghaziabad have ordered the closure of all schools due to the weather situation.
  • To ensure studies are not disrupted, schools have been directed to conduct online classes.

Meteorologists predict that intermittent rainfall will continue in Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad until September 5.

Rajasthan Weather: Heavy to Very Heavy Rain Likely in Several Divisions:

Rajasthan is also expected to witness a fresh spell of heavy rains. According to the Jaipur Meteorological Center, a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal is likely to advance further in the next 24 hours, bringing more rainfall to the state.

  • Between September 3 and 5, Kota, Udaipur, Ajmer, and Bharatpur divisions may experience heavy to very heavy rainfall.
  • Southeastern Rajasthan and nearby districts are also expected to see intensified showers.

IMD’s Advisory: The IMD has appealed to people to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rain spells. Residents are advised to stay alert in low-lying and waterlogged areas and remain in safe locations as a precaution.
