Weather Alert: Thunderstorms, Gusty Winds & Heavy Rain to Impact Multiple States

Weather conditions across India are set to shift rapidly over the coming days, with several regions expected to witness rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds. According to the latest forecast, varied weather activities will remain active between April 21 and April 26, bringing both relief and disruption in different parts of the country.

Hills Likely to See Rain and Snowfall:

The hill states are expected to experience unstable weather conditions. Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad may receive light to moderate rainfall and snowfall on April 24 and 25. These conditions could be accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–50 km/h. Himachal Pradesh is also likely to witness adverse weather on April 25 and 26.

Northeast India Braces for Heavy Rain and Lightning:

The northeastern region will remain highly active weather-wise. Arunachal Pradesh may experience widespread rainfall on April 21, with warnings of isolated very heavy showers.
Assam and Meghalaya are expected to receive consistent rainfall between April 21 and 24. Meanwhile, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura may see rainfall on April 21, followed by lightning activity on April 22 and 23.

Eastern India to Witness Stormy Conditions
Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim are likely to receive intermittent rainfall between April 21 and 26. Odisha may experience rain and thunderstorms from April 21 to 24, while Jharkhand could see similar conditions on April 24. Bihar is likely to face more intense conditions, with thundersqualls and wind speeds reaching 50–70 km/h on April 21, 24, and 25.

Light Rain Expected in Central India
Parts of Central India, including Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha, may witness light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds on April 21.

Rain and Lightning Alert for South India
Southern states are also expected to see active weather conditions. Kerala and Mahe may receive rainfall on April 21 and 22. Light to moderate rain is likely over South Interior Karnataka, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema between April 21 and 24.

Tamil Nadu may experience lightning activity from April 21 to 23.
