If you live in Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, or Jammu & Kashmir, be prepared — your umbrella and raincoat might be your best companions over the coming week.
Heavy rain is likely on August 10, 11, and 13–15, with isolated very heavy rainfall possible in some areas.
Jammu & Kashmir: Heavy rain on Aug 10 & 16, with extremely heavy rain expected between Aug 13–15.
Himachal Pradesh: Heavy rain on Aug 10, 15 & 16, with moderate to intense spells between Aug 11–14.
Uttarakhand: Thunderstorms and heavy rain from Aug 10–12 and Aug 14–16, with extremely heavy falls possible on Aug 13.
Western UP: Heavy rain on Aug 10 & 16, moderate showers on Aug 13 & 15.
Eastern UP: Heavy rain on Aug 12 & 15, light to moderate rainfall on Aug 13–14.
Eastern Rajasthan: Heavy rainfall alert for Aug 15 & 16.
Widespread lightning and thunderstorms are expected in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, and Uttarakhand during the week. IMD advises the public to take shelter in safe locations during bad weather and avoid open areas.
