Monsoon activity has intensified once again in North India, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting more rainfall in the coming days. Several parts of both Western and Eastern Uttar Pradesh are expected to experience significant showers between July 25 and 29. Meanwhile, isolated areas of Delhi are also likely to receive heavy rainfall today.
According to IMD, heavy downpours are expected in different parts of Western Uttar Pradesh from July 26 to 29, while Eastern UP may witness similar conditions from July 25 to 28. On Tuesday, some districts in the western region recorded notable rainfall, including 11 cm in Meerut and 5 cm in Muzaffarnagar.
The weather department has also warned of thunderstorms and lightning today in several districts like Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Noida (Gautam Buddha Nagar), Bulandshahr, and Bijnor. People are advised to remain cautious, especially during peak rainfall hours.
The capital city is also witnessing fluctuating weather conditions, with the possibility of intense rain in isolated pockets today. Continuous rainfall over the past few days has led to a noticeable rise in the water level of the Yamuna River. Although it still remains below the danger mark, authorities are keeping a close watch on the situation and are prepared for any emergency response if needed.
With the monsoon expected to remain active over the region, weather experts have urged people to exercise caution over the next few days. Lightning and heavy rain could pose safety risks, particularly for those living in low-lying areas and for farmers working in open fields. Travel plans should be reconsidered if not essential.
The situation demands continued monitoring and preparedness as rains are likely to persist, making safety and awareness the top priority for residents in affected regions.
