Haryana government has announced the start date for the procurement of wheat in the state. Under the Rabi Marketing Season 2026–27, government procurement of wheat will commence from April 1. When farmers bring their wheat to the market yards, the vehicle’s registration number along with its photograph will be recorded. Vehicles without a visible registration number will not be allowed to enter the mandi premises and will not receive a gate pass. This measure aims to strengthen transparency in the procurement system.
Geo-Fencing Technology for Procurement Centres:
State government has also integrated mandis and procurement centres with geo-fencing technology. Under this system, key stages of the procurement process—such as issuing gate passes for arrivals, bidding, and the generation of the I-Form—can only be completed within the mandi or procurement centre premises. The use of this technology is expected to enhance transparency and significantly reduce the chances of irregularities.
