Madhya Pradesh has emerged as a national leader in strengthening agricultural infrastructure. So far, the state has received approvals for agricultural infrastructure projects worth ₹9,272 crore under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) scheme. Of this, the Indore division alone has secured approvals amounting to ₹1,245 crore, positioning the state at the top in the implementation of AIF across India.
A divisional-level workshop was recently held in Indore to disseminate information about various schemes related to agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries, and agro-processing. The event, conducted at the Jaal Sabha Bhawan, saw participation from officials of eight districts within the Indore division, along with farmers, traders, entrepreneurs, bankers, and representatives from the Mandi Board.
Speaking at the event, Divisional Commissioner Mr. Deepak Singh commended the AIF scheme and emphasized the vast investment potential in sectors such as agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries, and processing units in the Indore region. He directed the concerned officials to meet the defined targets by December 2025 and prepare to achieve additional milestones by March 2026.
The AIF scheme, eligible beneficiaries can avail loans of up to ₹2 crore with an interest subvention of 3%. Financial assistance is available for setting up warehouses, cold storages, ripening chambers, pulse and flour mills, custom hiring centers, spice and bamboo processing units, among others.
During the workshop, Dr. Pooja Singh, Deputy Director of AIF, delivered a detailed presentation on the scheme. Technical training was provided by Agricultural Nodal Officer Mr. Govind Prasad Sharma. Senior officials from the Mandi Board, Bhopal, also engaged in open dialogue with participants, encouraging them to take full advantage of the scheme.
1,895 Applications and ₹1,245 Crore Approved in Indore Division:
So far, the Indore division has received 1,895 applications under the AIF scheme, with approvals worth ₹1,245 crore. At the state level, Madhya Pradesh has sanctioned ₹9,272 crore for 14,503 applications, reflecting its strong performance in driving agricultural growth through infrastructure development.
