June 2024, major mandis of Madhya Pradesh witnessed substantial garlic arrivals accompanied by significant price fluctuations. Notably, higher prices were recorded in mandis such as Neemuch and Bhopal, whereas Mandsaur mandis saw lower prices despite heavy inflows.

Mandsaur’s main mandi, garlic arrivals peaked at 11,387 tonnes—the highest in the state. Prices ranged from a minimum of ₹3,534 to a maximum of ₹19,875 per quintal, with the modal price at ₹9,242.

In Daloda mandi, also located in Mandsaur district, arrivals stood at 2,756 tonnes. Here, the minimum price was ₹3,203, maximum ₹18,370, and modal price ₹11,075 per quintal, which proved beneficial for farmers in the region.

Bhopal mandi, the state capital, recorded a comparatively lower arrival of 625 tonnes, but maintained strong pricing. In Daloda mandi of Mandsaur district, arrivals dropped by approximately 12.41%, down to 2,414 tonnes. The modal price was ₹4,650 per quintal, while prices ranged from a minimum of ₹1,715 to a maximum of ₹11,780 per quintal.
