Garlic Arrivals and Price Trends in Major Mandis of Uttar Pradesh – June 2024 and June 2025

In June 2024, garlic arrivals and prices remained relatively stable across major mandis in Uttar Pradesh, benefiting farmers with favorable market rates. However, June 2025 witnessed noticeable fluctuations in both arrivals and prices, causing mixed sentiments in the farming community.

Garlic Arrivals and Prices – June 2024:

June 2024, the state’s leading mandis in Etah, Etawah, and Lucknow reported moderate garlic arrivals and steady prices, with farmers receiving good returns.
Etah Mandi recorded a total arrival of 258 tonnes. Prices ranged from a minimum of ₹8,500 to a maximum of ₹9,550 per quintal, while the modal price stood at ₹8,600.
Etawah Mandi saw 357 tonnes of garlic arrivals. The minimum price was ₹9,920 and the maximum reached ₹10,800 per quintal. The modal price was ₹10,396, the highest among the reported mandis.
Lucknow Mandi received 186 tonnes of garlic. The minimum price stood at ₹10,033 and the maximum at ₹10,500, with a modal price of ₹10,280 per quintal.

Garlic Arrivals and Prices – June 2025:

June 2025, Uttar Pradesh’s garlic market showed mixed trends. While Etawah and Lucknow mandis recorded increased arrivals, price levels dropped considerably compared to the previous year.
Etah Mandi saw a 5.43% decline in arrivals, down to 244 tonnes. The minimum price was ₹4,610 and the maximum reached ₹6,200 per quintal. The modal price stood at ₹5,968, showing a sharp fall from the previous year.

Etawah Mandi experienced a 61.62% rise in garlic arrivals, reaching 577 tonnes. Prices ranged from ₹6,216 to ₹7,068 per quintal, with a modal price of ₹6,700, relatively better than other mandis this year.

Lucknow Mandi recorded 198 tonnes of garlic, a 6.45% increase from June 2024. Prices, however, remained subdued with a minimum of ₹6,150, maximum of ₹6,500, and a modal price of only ₹6,310—a notable drop from the ₹10,280 recorded the previous year.
