On the 10th day, the festival concludes with the grand Ganesh Visarjan (immersion ceremony).

Step-by-Step Ganesh Sthapana Puja Vidhi (Installation Rituals)

  1. Cleanse and Decorate the Puja Area – Ensure the space is clean and adorn it with flowers, rangoli, and decorative items.
  2. Install the Idol – Place Lord Ganesha’s idol on a decorated platform (chowki) covered with a red or yellow cloth during the auspicious time.
  3. Take a Sankalp (Vow) – Begin the puja by taking a vow with water, rice, and flowers in hand.
  4. Chant the Mantra – Invoke Lord Ganesha with the mantra “Om Gan Ganapataye Namah.”
  5. Perform Abhishekam – Bathe the idol with Panchamrit (a mixture of milk, curd, ghee, honey, and Ganga water).
  6. Dress and Decorate the Idol – Offer new clothes, ornaments, and sacred thread to the deity.
  7. Offer Bhog (Prasad) – Present Lord Ganesha with his favorite sweets, especially modaks and laddoos.
  8. Offer Durva Grass and Flowers – Present fresh durva grass, red flowers, and vermillion.

Perform Aarti – Conclude the ritual with family prayers and Ganesh Aarti, seeking blessings for peace and prosperity.

“One should meditate upon Lord Vishnu, clad in white garments, of moon-like complexion, with four arms and a serene, smiling face – for the removal of all obstacles.”
