This year, the monsoon is expected to reach India around May 27, which is about four days earlier than usual. Weather experts believe this early arrival could bring changes to weather patterns across the country.
Farmers are advised to start preparing in advance to protect their crops from the upcoming rains.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the southwest monsoon is likely to enter the eastern part of Madhya Pradesh around June 15. Within the following five days, rainfall is expected to spread across the entire state.
On Sunday, IMD issued warnings for heavy rain, thunder, and strong winds (40–50 km/h) in several districts of Madhya Pradesh. The alert covers Bhopal, Raisen, Sehore, Vidisha, Narmadapuram, Rajgarh, Betul, Gwalior, and Rewa.
The state capital Bhopal, the sky may remain partly cloudy today with chances of rain and lightning. Some areas already witnessed rain on Saturday. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 37°C and the minimum around 26°C.
Indore Weather Forecast: According to IMD, Indore may experience cloudy skies, strong winds, and possible rainfall with lightning on Sunday. The city is likely to record a maximum temperature of 36°C and a minimum of 24°C.
IMD Alerts in Other States Too: Today, IMD has also issued alerts for strong winds, thunderstorms, and lightning in several other parts of the country. These include Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh, Rajasthan, Assam, Meghalaya, Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana, South Interior Karnataka, Vidarbha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Marathwada, and North Interior Karnataka.
