The chill is slowly tightening its grip across North India as cold winds sweep through Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar, signaling the onset of winter. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), temperatures in the national capital are gradually dropping, and the warmth of the sun is fading. Currently, Delhi’s maximum temperature stands at around 30°C, while the minimum hovers between 17°C and 18°C. IMD has also predicted light rainfall in isolated areas, which may further enhance the cold conditions in the coming days.

Temperature Drops Across Uttar Pradesh; Clear Skies Over Lucknow:

The Uttar Pradesh Meteorological Department reported a steady fall in temperature, particularly in the eastern parts of the state, following recent showers. As a result, mornings and evenings are expected to feel noticeably colder. In Lucknow, the weather is likely to remain clear on Monday, with a maximum temperature of 31°C and a minimum of around 18°C. Cities such as Noida, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Kanpur, and Bareilly are expected to witness stable weather conditions without major fluctuations.

Western Disturbance to Affect Rajasthan from November 3:

The IMD has forecast that a new Western Disturbance will become active over Rajasthan from November 3, bringing light to moderate rainfall to several divisions, including Jodhpur, Udaipur, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Kota on November 3 and 4. Parts of the Bikaner division may experience partly cloudy conditions.

After November 5, the weather across Rajasthan is expected to turn mainly dry, but cold northerly winds are likely to cause a 2–4°C drop in minimum temperatures, further intensifying the winter chill across the state. With these evolving weather patterns, North India is gradually entering the early phase of a chilly winter, setting the stage for a sharp temperature dip in the days ahead.
