The weather in Madhya Pradesh has taken a sudden turn. The impact of Cyclone ‘Motha’ is still being felt across several parts of the state. With multiple weather systems active simultaneously, thunderstorms, lightning, and intermittent rainfall are being recorded in many regions.
The cyclone has now weakened into a low-pressure area and is moving toward eastern Madhya Pradesh. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a heavy rainfall alert has been issued for 11 districts of the state. On Friday, light to moderate showers were reported in Bhopal and several nearby districts, bringing a noticeable drop in temperature and a cool breeze across the region.
As per IMD forecasts, Rewa, Singrauli, Sidhi, Umaria, Dindori, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Hoshangabad, Chhatarpur, Sagar, and Damoh are expected to receive heavy rainfall.
Meanwhile, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ujjain, Indore, Khargone, Burhanpur, Sheopur, Morena, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Mandla, and Balaghat may experience light to moderate rain. In the state capital Bhopal, skies will remain cloudy throughout the day, accompanied by cool winds.
Weather experts predict that rainfall may continue across Madhya Pradesh until the first week of November. Thereafter, cold winds from northern India are expected to intensify the winter chill across the state.
In several districts, the maximum temperature has already dropped to around 23°C, nearly 7°C below normal, signaling the early arrival of winter.
The weather department has urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel or outdoor activities during heavy rain or strong winds. Farmers have been advised to store harvested crops in safe, covered places to prevent losses due to rain and moisture.
