Weather conditions across North India have taken another turn. While Uttar Pradesh is witnessing clear skies and a noticeable drop in temperature due to cold northwesterly winds, Bihar continues to face the impact of Cyclone Montha, with the Meteorological Department issuing a heavy rain alert for several districts.
With the weakening of Cyclone Montha, weather patterns in Uttar Pradesh have completely changed. After three days of cloudy skies, conditions have started to clear up, bringing sunshine to many districts. In Kanpur and nearby regions, the clouds have finally disappeared, and the weather has turned pleasant and bright.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the next two days Saturday and Sunday will remain mostly dry across the state. The chances of rainfall have nearly ended. However, due to the influence of cold northwesterly winds, night temperatures are expected to drop. Daytime conditions will remain normal with sunshine, though mornings and evenings will feel slightly colder.
In Lucknow, the sky will remain partly cloudy today, becoming clear later in the day. The city recorded 21.6 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours. The recent rains and gusty winds have significantly improved air quality. The IMD predicts that air conditions will continue to improve in the coming days, and daytime temperatures will gradually return to normal levels.
Meanwhile, Bihar remains under the influence of Cyclone Montha, which has disturbed weather patterns across the state. According to the IMD, most parts of Bihar have experienced unseasonal rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning.
The weather department expects the system to persist for the next two days, with Katihar, Kishanganj, Araria, Purnea, Supaul, and Madhepura among the districts likely to witness heavy showers and strong winds over the next 24 hours. The state capital Patna, skies will remain generally cloudy with one or two spells of rain or thunderstorms. Authorities have advised residents to stay alert, as continuous rain could lead to waterlogging and minor disruptions to daily activities.
