Good news for livestock farmers in Rajasthan. Under the Chief Minister Dairy Producer Support Scheme, the state government has transferred the seven-month grant amount directly into the accounts of nearly 5 lakh dairy farmers. A total of ₹364.47 crore has been transferred via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The scheme aims not only to promote livestock farming but also to enhance the income of dairy producers and provide them with financial security.
The grant payment under this scheme was announced by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. The amount was recently distributed to the state’s dairy farmers during a ceremony held at JECC. Cabinet Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairy, and Devasthan Department, Joraram Kumawat, stated that the grant covers the period from January 2025 to July 2025.
Minister Kumawat added that under this scheme, dairy farmers receive a subsidy of ₹5 per liter of milk sold to dairy cooperatives affiliated with Saras Dairy, which is directly transferred to their bank accounts. Nearly 5 lakh farmers have benefited from this provision. He further mentioned that the Rajasthan government has allocated a budget of ₹650 crore for this scheme for the fiscal year 2025-26. This demonstrates the government’s intent not merely to provide one-time benefits but to stabilize farmers’ incomes through long-term support.
Beneficiary dairy farmers can easily check the credited amount in their accounts using their bank account mini statement or mobile banking app. The government has clarified that all eligible farmers have received the amount directly in their bank accounts, eliminating the need for any complex procedures.
The Chief Minister Dairy Producer Support Scheme is an initiative of the state government aimed at providing financial security and economic empowerment to small and medium-scale dairy farmers. Under this scheme, farmers supplying milk to government dairy cooperatives receive an additional subsidy of ₹5 per liter.
With this scheme, Rajasthan’s dairy farmers can now earn better prices for their milk while receiving regular financial assistance, enabling them to become self-reliant. This initiative is expected to boost investment in the dairy sector and create new employment and income opportunities in rural areas across the state.
