If you're looking to start a new agriculture-related business or dream of setting up a fruit plant nursery, this news could be your golden chance. To promote horticulture in the state, the Bihar government is offering up to ₹10 lakh in subsidies for establishing small private nurseries.
Under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) for the year 2025–26, the state will provide 50% subsidy (up to ₹10 lakh) on a total project cost of ₹20 lakh per hectare for private-sector nursery projects. This scheme is not just about financial support—it’s a significant step toward self-employment for farmers and budding agri-entrepreneurs.
Any interested individual in Bihar who wants to set up a fruit plant nursery is eligible. However, the applicant must be registered on the DBT portal. Additionally, the applicant must provide land ownership documents or a family lineage certificate.
Applicants from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) will also need to submit a caste certificate.
To establish a mini nursery, the applicant must have between 0.4 hectare and 1 hectare of land. This land should be:

How Much Subsidy Will Be Provided and How?
The estimated cost for a mini nursery is ₹20 lakh per hectare, out of which 50% (₹10 lakh) will be provided as subsidy.
