Agriculture-Industry Conclave 2025 in Narsinghpur: Emphasis on Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Farmer Welfare

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar stated that the path to India’s prosperity runs through its villages and farms. Agriculture forms the backbone of the country’s economy, and the development of innovation and industries in agriculture is the need of the hour. He was addressing the inauguration of the ‘Agriculture-Industry Conclave 2025’ held on Monday in Narsinghpur. He praised the efforts of the Madhya Pradesh government, stating that such initiatives should serve as an inspiration for other states.

Commendable Efforts to Promote Farmer Entrepreneurship:

Vice President Dhankhar congratulated Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, calling him a dedicated and farmer-friendly leader. He appreciated the Chief Minister’s initiative to encourage farmers to go beyond mere crop production and venture into food processing, marketing, and industry. He suggested that Members of Parliament and Legislative Assembly members should adopt villages and encourage farmers toward entrepreneurship. He also highlighted the presence of 720 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (Agricultural Science Centres) across the country, which serve as vital sources of technical knowledge and support for farmers.

Narsinghpur’s Agricultural Fairs Benefiting Farmers:

Narsinghpur holds significant importance both spiritually and agriculturally in Madhya Pradesh. Governor Mangubhai Patel said the district is blessed by the grace of Maa Narmada, and the Makar Sankranti fair held in Barman stands as a testament to its rich cultural heritage. He noted that agricultural fairs and industry conclaves organized across the state are providing farmers with valuable access to new technology, innovation, and training. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav continues to work tirelessly for farmer welfare.

Narsinghpur’s Identity as the ‘Bowl of Pulses’ Strengthens State Agriculture: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav mentioned that Madhya Pradesh is continuously progressing in the field of agriculture. Narsinghpur is famously known as the ‘Bowl of Pulses,’ and its pigeon pea (toor dal) has also received the prestigious Geographical Indication (GI) tag. He emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is committed to increasing farmers’ incomes. With 247 rivers, including the Narmada, Madhya Pradesh has become rich in water resources, further strengthening agricultural production.

Benefits from Farmer Fairs and Government Schemes: The Chief Minister highlighted that under the Farmer Welfare Mission, the state government is working in mission mode to provide farmers with solar pumps, agricultural machinery, and technical knowledge. Around 3.2 million solar pumps will be distributed to farmers with 90% subsidy. Additionally, farmer fairs are being organized to distribute modern agricultural equipment, resulting in increased productivity.

Blessings of Maa Narmada: Pride of Narsinghpur: Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Patel, in his welcome address, stated that Narsinghpur district is irrigated by the sacred 123-kilometer stretch of the Maa Narmada River, blessing its farmers with prosperity and progress. School Education and Transport Minister Uday Pratap Singh expressed gratitude and said the conclave is a significant platform for farmers’ advancement.
