Farming is about to become more affordable and efficient than ever. The government has launched the “Agricultural Mechanization Scheme 2025–26”, under which farmers can now rent expensive agricultural machinery such as tractors, harvesters, power tillers, and drone sprayers.
The most remarkable feature of this scheme is that farmers will receive up to 40% subsidy on rental costs. Additionally, 267 Custom Hiring Centers (CHCs) are being set up across the state to ensure easy access to modern farming equipment for every farmer.
A Custom Hiring Center (CHC) is a facility where farmers can rent agricultural machinery as per their needs. For those who cannot afford to buy high-cost equipment like tractors or harvesters, this scheme is a boon.
From ploughing and sowing to harvesting and pesticide spraying, all farming tasks can now be done more efficiently and economically using modern machines. This will not only save time and reduce costs but also increase productivity in the long run.
The government has allocated a budget of ₹10 lakh for each Custom Hiring Center under this scheme. Farmers will be eligible for a direct financial subsidy of up to ₹4 lakh per CHC, which equals 40% of the total setup cost.
A total budget of ₹1078.75 lakh has been earmarked to support the scheme. The goal is to make advanced agricultural tools easily accessible to small and marginal farmers, helping them produce more at a lower cost.
